Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy is the application of ozone gas to your body to treat an ailment or wound.

Ozone, one of the sources of the atmosphere, is a high-energy form of oxygen. Due to its great importance as a source of life, ozone is being researched more and more in the medical world and is becoming increasingly important.

Ozone (O3) is formed in the atmosphere as a result of the combination of oxygen atoms with other oxygen molecules (O2), which occurs when high-energy sun rays hit normal oxygen molecules (O2). It is one of the most important gases in the stratosphere. Due to its strong oxidizing properties and being a very effective disinfectant, ozone is used all over the world as a reliable germicide in all water treatment plants.

Ozone therapy is used in the treatment of the following conditions in our unit:

  • Movement and function disorders of the spine and musculoskeletal system
  • Acute and chronic pain syndromes of the spine and bone and joint system
  • Slipped vertebral discs
  • Ischialgia, brachial neuralgia, sciatica, discopathic pain
  • Joint stiffness and degeneration
  • Migraine, tension headaches
  • Postural defects
  • Rehabilitation after outpatient surgery
  • Post-accident pain syndromes
  • Neuromuscular problems such as spasticity, cerebral palsy
  • Coordination and psychomotor dysfunction in children
  • Psychosomatic syndromes, anxiety, depression
  • For supportive purposes in chronic neurological diseases (Alzheimer's, MS)
  • Sleep disorders
  • Functional disorders of the digestive, urinary, urogenital, respiratory and circulatory systems

What is Ozone?

Ozone is an oxygen molecule formed by the combination of three oxygen molecules, O3 is a gas called oxygen. Oxygen molecules in the air we breathe are called O2 form. Therefore, ozone, which is not present in the air we breathe but is formed spontaneously in the upper layers of the atmosphere, can be obtained from oxygen cylinders with the help of a generator in clinical use.

Ozone has a distinctive odor and is a gas that can revert toO2 in the lower layers of the atmosphere.

OZONE IN CLINICAL PRACTICE;

Ozone has two basic properties;

  1. Ozone is a good antioxidant.
  2. Ozone is an effective surface disinfectant.

Fungi and viruses lose their vitality when they encounter ozone.

The oxygen-ozone mixture used in medical applications contains 3-5% ozone. This mixture is called medical ozone.

WHAT IS OZONE THERAPY FOR?

Ozone therapy aims to make the most efficient use of oxygen by tissues and cells. If red blood cells, which are called red blood cells in the human body and whose task is to carry oxygen, encounter ozone, many changes occur in these cells and therefore in our body:

  • Red blood cells that encounter ozone gain elasticity and increase blood fluidity in areas where ozone is encountered.
  • The oxygen carrying capacity of red blood cells exposed to ozone increases.
  • There is an increase in the ability of red blood cells to release oxygen to the tissues.
  • Ozone accelerates intracellular respiration and thus increases the energy production required for cell functions.
  • Ozone is a substance with strong antioxidant properties. For this reason, ozone helps to clean the chemicals in our body by increasing the detoxifying properties of the skin.
  • Ozone supports the regulation of the immune system.
  • Ozone contributes to systemic regulation by having a regulatory effect on metabolism.
  • Ozone supports cell regeneration.
