Ozone therapy is the application of ozone gas to your body to treat an ailment or wound.
Ozone, one of the sources of the atmosphere, is a high-energy form of oxygen. Due to its great importance as a source of life, ozone is being researched more and more in the medical world and is becoming increasingly important.
Ozone (O3) is formed in the atmosphere as a result of the combination of oxygen atoms with other oxygen molecules (O2), which occurs when high-energy sun rays hit normal oxygen molecules (O2). It is one of the most important gases in the stratosphere. Due to its strong oxidizing properties and being a very effective disinfectant, ozone is used all over the world as a reliable germicide in all water treatment plants.
Ozone therapy is used in the treatment of the following conditions in our unit:
Ozone is an oxygen molecule formed by the combination of three oxygen molecules, O3 is a gas called oxygen. Oxygen molecules in the air we breathe are called O2 form. Therefore, ozone, which is not present in the air we breathe but is formed spontaneously in the upper layers of the atmosphere, can be obtained from oxygen cylinders with the help of a generator in clinical use.
Ozone has a distinctive odor and is a gas that can revert toO2 in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Ozone has two basic properties;
Fungi and viruses lose their vitality when they encounter ozone.
The oxygen-ozone mixture used in medical applications contains 3-5% ozone. This mixture is called medical ozone.
Ozone therapy aims to make the most efficient use of oxygen by tissues and cells. If red blood cells, which are called red blood cells in the human body and whose task is to carry oxygen, encounter ozone, many changes occur in these cells and therefore in our body:
